Cover story about the mod revival. "The Mods" (derived from "modernist") was a subculture that originated in London in the late 50s and peaked in the mid 60s. Mods were into motorscooters, dancing and tailor-made clothes.
The "mod revival" was a music genre (The Jam) and a subcultural youth movement that started in England in 1978. The Film Quadrophenia (1979), based on a rock opera by The Who, romanticised the original.
